Dr Andrew Lee of ScHARR Public Health section has worked as an aid worker in Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and the Philippines. In this talk he gives an honest account of what really happens in the aftermath of conflicts and disasters. Dr Lee highlights the positives and exposes the flaws of disaster response, as well as examining the current state of research in this field.
